Academic/Corporate/Workplace/Group Presentations

I thoroughly enjoy tailoring experiences to your audience and goals. Whether its a 1 hour Keynote or a 3-Day Leadership Training. Here are some basic ideas that can be scaled up/down, and customized for your event.

I work in a highly tailored format so I can create nearly any experience you hope to offer your audience. I have various standard presentations (1-6 hours) where I simply provide great information and there isn't much interaction or practice. I also provide highly experiential groups that combines lecture and interaction to really get things moving (1-3 days). You and I will first brainstorm the overall goals of my work and the logistics (i.e., timing, travel, # of attendees, etc), and I design an experience that best fits your wants/needs.

I can't give you specific prices until we define more details (I'll give you an official proposal or two to approve once we design the experience). However, I can give you some basic parameters to begin thinking about. I break my presentation fee into three categories:

  • Presentation Only (most common request)
    • These are best for small practices/clinics, symposiums or academic conferences where I present to the group information, ideas, and tools that you all can go implement on your own. There are typically a few group exercises when the session is longer, but not much experiential interaction. There's often ample time for Q&A but I don't walk away really knowing any of the people or the overall dynamics of the group.
    • I have various presentation topics available, such as a full day (6 hour) skills development presentation that covers all the important research and skills around healthy communication. These can then be scaled down to meet time constraints or scaled up to an Interactive Workshop.
    • Presentations can be 1.5-6 hours (typical rate = $500/hour + travel)

  • Interactive Workshop
    • I recommend a more interactive experience for close-knit groups like leadership or small practices/companies.
    • Think of this more as a hands-on workshop. I design an experience typically 5 hours a day for 1-3 days. We combine small and large group exercises to truly practice the learning objectives. Ample Q&A. I ask for real-world scenarios they face that the group workshops together. Plus, I usually have participants complete some pre-workshop questionnaires and such for me so we can tailor the experience even more.
    • With this type of workshop, I have the option to interact 1:1 with small groups that you might designate to help with specific struggles they might have.
    • Interactive Workshop rates are typically $1,000/hour - typically $5,000/day +travel.

Want to really set your practice apart from others? Consider hosting an expert training or workshop:

Gottman Clinical Trainings
Considered a must-have training if you work with couples as a therapist/counselor/coach. However, my research has shown that if you work with couples making any big decision (such as lawyers, accountants, realtors, builders, etc), then completing the following trainings can produce quicker, more efficient results. CEUs potentially available to those that need it.

The following are offered publicly, but you can also ask for a private training for you group:

  • Gottman Method Clinical Training : Level 1
    • 2 Days (8 hrs/day) hours including lunch.
    • Can be broken into 4hrs/day for 4 days, or 2 hrs/day for 8 days
    • Presentation Fee begins at $3,000
    • 12 CEUs available for per/person fee
    • Required Materials for a per/person fee
  • Gottman Method Clinical Training : Level 2
    • 3 Days (8 hrs/day) hours including lunch.
    • Can be broken into 4hrs/day for 6 days, or 2 hrs/day for 12 days
    • Presentation Fee begins at $4,500
    • 12 CEUs available for per/person fee
    • Required Materials for a per/person fee

Gottman Couples Workshops
Research shows that a happy home life fosters a happy work life. Give your company the gift of both by offering the following workshops. If you are a therapy practice that works with couples, you can also offer this to your clients (e.g., you host, I present).

Bringing in an expert is a great way to work with clients on a waitlist, to get past clients to reengage as a “refresher,” and to market your practice to the community. I love specifically tailoring presentations to your audience so if you have an idea and a budget, we can work together.

Want to go all out for a unique experience for your team?

  • On-The-Go Experiences
    • The above options include you dealing with all logistics, location, meals and such for the group, etc. Basically I show up and work. I have also started to dabble more into the on-the-go experience where we combine the workshop objectives with sometimes unconventional experiences. For instance, a group of CEOs did a 2-day workshop with me then flew me out to the West Coast and we went on a hike together. I've had five family members of a family business where we literally played mini-golf and got frozen yogurt as a group. During these on-the-go experiences we disrupt the comfort of the status-quo and I set parameters that are designed to create challenges to give them a chance to actually work through communication together differently. I've done this a couple times but it seems to work best for smaller groups (like the 5 heads of one facility that interact as a work-family, senior leadership, or a small group practice) and after they've done the interactive workshop. I'd be happy to brainstorm with you if this sounds interesting.
