PRIVATE COUPLES RETREATS & MARATHONS
STANDARD (WEEKLY) SESSIONS
SCS offers standard sessions to Couples, Families, or Individuals experiencing a range of concerns. Couples and Family sessions are typically 90-min in length. Individual sessions tend to be 60-min in length. Though the customizable nature of scheduling can allow us to meet as little or as much as is necessary.
Standard Sessions are prorated to $220/hour
All couples are required to complete our extensive Assessment Bundle prior to the start of your sessions. The Assessment Bundle starts at $2,000 per couple and includes extensive online assessments,
three 90-min sessions, and the 4-6 hours SCS spends reviewing and preparing
for your experience.

SELF-PAY
- To ensure privacy, most people don't use insurance since it requires a mental health diagnosis and insurers may seek personal details about your problem. Such information may become part of your permanent medical record and can affect future employment, disability insurance, custody/divorce proceedings, security clearance, etc.
- Furthermore, children and adults who receive a mental health diagnosis may be denied from certain educational programs or denied future participation in law enforcement or military service.
- Paying for the session yourself allows for quality counseling services and offers confidentiality without intrusive managed care requirements
- Insurances do not cover 90 minute sessions or Private Retreats
Currently, Smithey Counseling Services does not accept insurance or EAP programs. In lieu of using insurance, SCS offers various discounts and payment plans for Private Retreats. You may also be able to submit a claim to your insurance yourself. SCS will provide any requested documentation to you. Payment is due at time of service. If you are wishing to use your insurance after the fact, it is recommended that you look into you Out of Network benefits prior to starting.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
In order to reserve/block off the requested dates for our custom packages, payment is due in full at the time of booking. For Discernment and Standard Sessions, Payment is expected at the time of service (or may be requested up to 72 hours prior to your appointment in accordance with our Cancellation policy). Don't let fees be a deterrent to seeking counseling. Clients' well-being is top priority. There are numerous ways to help pay for services. You may be surprised how willing some friends and family can be in offering support during this time in your life. To assist in the financial investment that you are making in your life and relationships, I offer numerous services at different price points. If a Private Retreat is out of the question, consider attending a workshop - a much more affordable option to experience 6 months of counseling.

CANCELLATION POLICY
For the most up-to-date cancellation policy on custom packages, refer to each service's page or Contact SCS.
For Discernment and Standard Sessions, we subscribe to a strict 48 hour Cancellation Policy. If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least two full business days in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. This is due to a number of factors, most notably being that the custom nature of our services and the unlikelihood of being able to reschedule that custom service in the same time slot. SCS intentionally accepts a limited number of clients so that you can be confident in accessibility and scheduling.
